The Yangtze Delta is the most economically developed region in China. Its economic gross ranks top in China with its level of industrialization being nationally ahead. The Yangtze Delta has become the manufacturing base of China, and also the international manufacturing transfer place. As an economic and manufacturing center neighboring the Yangtze Delta, Ningbo is renowned for being the solid industrial base for machinery and electronics. Its products and sales of electronic information, mechanical equipment, automobiles, precision instruments, garments and textiles, molds, biological & chemical instrument, appliance wiring and stationery run top in China.
China International Machinery & Electronics Exposition (CIME) was proposed by Mr. Lu Yongxiang, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, President of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, in order to further develop the regional economy and the electronic industry of the nation, to improve the research capability and overall level of Chinese manufacturing industry, to enhance interaction and mutual influence between high-tech and machinery & electronic industry, and to facilitate economic cooperation and technological exchange home and abroad as well as the integration of manufacturing, academics and research. With the support of Science and Technology Ministry, Academy of Sciences, China Machinery Industry Federation, China Machinery and Electronic Product Import & Export Chamber of Commerce and China National Machine Tool Corporation, the CIME has been successfully held for three years under the co-organizers as Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, Ningbo Municipal Government, and Ningbo Municipal Economic Commission. The theme of CIME is “Industry, Trade, Science and Technology”, with the aim of building up a brilliant brand exhibition in China.
