This press is a web fed press with an inspection splice station. Material comes off of the unwind through the inspection station where the operator marks on the material if there is a flaw in the material. When material is feeding into the press there is a camera system that scans material for the marked flaws and determines if the sheets or good or bad. It is then steel rule die cut. After being cut a vacuum plate comes in and picks up the cut part and the leading edge of the web and pulls in the next sheet to be cut. If the cut part is good then it is stacked on a pallet on the first conveyor. If it was scanned as bad then it is placed on a pallet on the second conveyor where it can later be checked for any good parts. This press has 200 tons of cutting pressure with a 48 × 48 inch cutting area.
