Heavy duty, rigid fly cutter with adjustable width of cut up to 10.5" max (7.6 min) Comes complete with 1 TNMG insert, 2 insert screws and 1 1/2"-20 socket head cap screw to mount the cutter body to your shell mill / face mill holder. Cutter body fits 1" boss holder with 3/8" key. Can be used on CNC Mill, Boring Mill, Floor Mill, Vertical Mill, Horizontal Mill etc. Can be used to cut a wide variety of materials from aluminum and plastics to tool steels. Any TNMG 4 series insert can be used. TNMG inserts are widely available and with 6 cutting edges very economical. A TNMG 432 insert is included to cover most general purpose work in a variety of materials.
Best for fine finishing of surfaces of up to 10.5" across with cut depths of up to .030" in steel and .080" in aluminum and plastics. Can also be used to rough workpieces and remove scale, when a large surface area needs to be covered. Works great for facing cylinder heads.
In many cases this tool can eliminate the need for surface or Blanchard grinding, and is great for 1 pass per side squaring of workpieces.
The bar is adjustable and reversible and can be used to cut inside of clevises and the underside of overhanging work pieces. If bar is reversed the spindle must be run in reverse (ccw)
Cutter body and bar are plated with clear zinc for corrosion resistance.
