A torn off screw or a tap, which is partly still in the workpiece and cannot be removed by simple means, can render the entire workpiece unusable if the workpiece is not freed from the foreign body. Often the stuck material cannot be removed with conventional tools and should be removed with an erosion drill. The workpiece itself and the surrounding properties should not be damaged. An erosion machine can also be used, for example, for fixed bearings, markings, profiled insertions or round insertions.
