Ultrasound is a high-frequency vibration in the non-audible range. The sealing tools (sonotrodes) are set vibrating at a high frequency in the ultra sound range by the piezoelectric effect. These vibrations produce an intramolecular friction in the film, due to which the film is welded as a result of the frictional heat incurred. A cross-seam sealing tool with 2-4-6 lugs can be used.
