The Caorle model MC-640 is a high precision and large capacity 6-Axis, double-end machining and manufacturing center, featuring two horizontally opposed and full-functioning 3-Axis machining center units, each with their own ISO-40 taper high-torque machining spindle and 4-standard position toolchanger (12 positions as option). Each machining unit features individual and programmable 2-Axis interpolation and positioning, and can carry out either similar or dissimilar machining operations simultaneously. The MC-640 has been primarily designed and configured for heavy-duty machining operations on very large components. Workpiece positioning and clamping is with two (2) centralized hydraulic clamping stations, specifically designed for extreme weight and heavy duty, simultaneous 3-Axis machining on both ends of large forgings, castings, bars and tubing. All machine operation and functions are programmed, controlled and monitored at the CNC control. Typical endworking operations performed include face-milling, centerdrilling, drilling, tapping (both rigid and floating), neck turning, ID/OD grooving, chamfering, spot-facing. Siemens model 840D CNC controller and GE Fanuc CNC controller are both available as standard.
