REVUE THOMMEN AG was founded in 1859 in Waldenburg, Switzerland as a manufacturer of clocks and watches.
Because of the need for special purpose machines to produce the precision components of these timepieces production of special machinery began in the 1930's. This marked the beginning of the development of profile rolling machines. Until about 1985 most of these machines were sold exclusively in Switzerland.
As the first manufacturer of profile rolling machines, REVUE THOMMEN recognised the importance of the rolling process for consistent accuracy and reliability in production. This concept led to the introduction of the first CNC controlled rolling machines. This new CNC technology opened up new possibilities for rolling intricate components for specialist applications at Bosch GmbH, Germany.
Revue Thommen now offer special purpose machines for spark plug shells, worm wheel drives, computer terminal connections, splines, knurls, as well as a wide range of thread rolling applications.
