This CNC grinding machine redefines increased productivity and cost reduction for profile grinding applications. The unique features of the BLOHM PROKOS offer solutions to a wide range of precision machining applications, addressing the needs of the turbine industry, machine tool industry and tooling industry – as well as the bearing industry.
The BLOHM PROKOS is the jet among grinding machines. It combines the advantages of speed-stroke oscillation with those of high speed grinding. Cutting-edge linear technology for the drives of the X- and Z-axis as well as a swivelling high-speed grinding spindle and a rotational axis with torque motor makes child's play of machining even the most complex components and difficult-to-machine materials cost-effectively.
The PROKOS reaches infeed speeds of up to 120 m/min, accelerations of up to 25 m/s² and cutting speeds of up to 150 m/s, making it the world's fastest guideway grinding machine. Thanks to the weight and damping of the machine bed and top beam – both made from mineral casting – the PROKOS guarantees an excellent grinding result, even with extremely high axis accelerations.
